I saw this on Instagram recently:
It had more than 100 likes when I saw it but this post made me question the information within it:
Compared to – and according to – what?
It reminded me of two things:
- The old Whiskas slogan, “Eight out of ten cats prefer Whiskas”: compared to stale bread or cold soup, they probably do
- The need to pause and question things we read – what’s the source they’re quoting? Did they make up that stat?
