I have a love/hate relationship with Spotify. More specifically, the Spotify app.

I rarely use the desktop version but listen to music via the app on my phone every day.

But there’s a lot there that I never look at.

Take an artist’s page, for example.

Maybe it’s because I’m not interested: when I’m listening to a song, I generally ignore “Offers” or what “Fans Also Like” or “Appears On”, so I never look at them closely.

Maybe it’s because I simply don’t understand how to use the app properly, so don’t get the best experience from it.

Either way, I feel that it needs one of two things: simplifying or explaining.

Given that the owners of Spotify no doubt make a few quid by showing everything they do, I doubt they’re up for simplifying it.

So, what about a how-to guide that I’d understand?

I wonder if anyone else shares my frustration. Apart from the bloke who’s written the only book I found quickly on Amazon, which has a single review (one-star).

Maybe I’ll write an ebook, similar to Brett Kelly’s Evernote Essentials, which was so good Evernote hired him full-time to write and maintain their user documentation.

Do schools teach kids how to get the most out of Spotify in music lessons?
