It’s easy when you first dive in to the world of internet marketing, as I did in 2007, to be drawn in by the apparently ‘easy’ riches on offer, if you just ‘follow these simple steps’ and ‘download this ebook’ which will ‘unlock the life of your dreams’.
Of course, life’s not like that, and it takes a lot of work, mistakes and ‘pivoting’ (aka deciding that what you went for didn’t work so you changed your mind completely).
I wasn’t ever attracted by the fast, flashy cars and posing for a photo by an infinity pool with a phone in one hand and a coffeemochachinolatte in the other while I conducted my international business selling buttons on eBay from the laptop in front of me.
No, all I wanted and am still working towards is a bit of time off without having to worry.
