What catches my eye (apart from short people with umbrellas):
- When content is shared an enormous number of times on social media. It must be good
- When a website is written and designed without good UX in mind:
- Posts on social media by people promoting their methods to get loads of followers when they’ve got none themselves
Things that never catch my eye:
- Cookie notices that I click on without reading. I’m just looking for the ‘OK’ button or the ‘Accept’ button as soon as I see the notice. I never read the wording. It could be showing me a nasty message about my bald head or the size of my nose or anything else. It’s like when you ask someone for directions and you stop listening after three seconds because they’re not making sense and tune in again at the end of the conversation to thank the person but have no idea what they just said to you or where to go
- Banner ads splashed across desperate-looking local newspaper websites
